The beautiful Lajas river
This is one of the most beautiful rivers that I have visited in Costa Rica, as if it were a painting, the combination of beautiful colors and the composition of the blue-green water with the beautiful palm trees, the sand-colored stones and the dry log of wood, in where a crystalline stream ends up forming a great pose excellent for swimming and cooling off.
Perhaps many tourists overlook it, because from the Cabuya-Montezuma highway bridge its landscape quality is not appreciated, but it must be a mandatory stop for lovers of rivers and natural beauty.
Location
Located on the Nicoya peninsula, in the Cóbano district in the Puntarenas province. The Lajas River is a small river barely 2km long, hence its purity and the origin of its crystal clear waters. Highly recommended to cool off and spend the day.
How to get there
ATV
One of the best ATV tours is to depart from Santa Teresa to Malpaís, before reaching the end of Malpais, you must take a detour to Cabuya and cross a rural route of about 10km away, daring around 3 streams, and passing parts with ocean view.
On the way back, you can drive to Montezuma, enjoy some refreshments in the shops in the area and return through Cobano and the main road to Santa Teresa to return the ATV.
The rental of the quad bike has a value of $ 50 for a period of 24 hours, you must leave the data of a credit or debit card but without lowering any guarantee.
By car
You can get from Cóbano to Montezuma and from there drive to Cabuya, this can be in any type of vehicle, however if you leave from Santa Teresa on the route that starts from Malpaís it can only be done in 4×4 and has an extension of 10km .
